The fastest caravel of the fleet

The Pinta, one of the three historic ships accompanying Christopher Columbus on his historic voyage to the New World in 1492, played a crucial role in changing the course of history.

Commanded by Martín Alonso Pinzón, this Spanish caravel, with its rigging consisting of a square foresail and a large mainsail, and a mizzenmast hoisting a triangular lateen sail, was the fastest of the three ships that brought the Genoese navigator to discover America.

A ship loaded with hopes and challenges

The Pinta was not just a ship of wood and sails: it symbolized hope and audacity. Measuring 22.75 meters in length, 6.6 meters in width, capable of sailing at a speed of 8 knots (approximately 14.82 kilometers per hour) with a crew of 26 men, this impressive ship embarked on an epic mission to find a route to the Far East, thus opening the doors to discoveries that would revolutionize the fate of humanity.

Timeless inspiration for navigators and dreamers

Despite the end of its extraordinary journey, the Pinta left an indelible mark on history. Its name has become synonymous with adventure, exploration, and discovery. Every wave faced, every storm overcome, contributed to shaping the destiny of future generations.

The Pinta has become an icon of the human determination to explore the unknown, inspiring sailors, explorers, and dreamers around the world to follow their destiny, to discover new horizons.
